A host creates an album at albumjar.com/new and shares its link + code. Guests open the link, enter the code, type their name, and upload photos & videos straight from their camera roll. Everyone with the code can browse the shared gallery and sign the guest book. No app, no accounts.
Nine times out of ten they opened the link inside a messaging app’s built-in browser (WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger). Have them tap the ⋮ or share icon and choose “Open in browser,” then try again. Also: keep the page open until every file shows a ✓.
It’s the private link shown right after you created your album (it looks like albumjar.com/a/…) — we also email it to you. Bookmark it — it’s where you share the invite, print the QR sign, change the cover photo, remove content, and download everything. Never share it with guests. Lost it? Use albumjar.com/recover and we’ll email you every link connected to your address.
25 photos/videos, 20 guest book notes, and 5 GB of storage per album, with uploads closing on the date you chose (up to 90 days out). Individual videos can be big — up to about 4GB each. Need more room? The $49 Event Pass (host dashboard → Upgrade) makes uploads unlimited (100 GB fair use, expandable +100 GB for $19) and keeps the album up for 6 months.
Host dashboard → “Download everything.” Every file comes down at full quality, named by contributor, plus credits.txt (contributor list) and guestbook.txt. Your memories are never locked in.
Uploads close on the date the host set. Free albums stay up about 7 days after that (Event Pass albums 6 months), then the album is archived and its media is deleted from our servers — so download everything before then. Export is free on every plan.
The cover photo — anytime from your dashboard. Themes are picked at creation for now; if you need a change, email us and we’ll switch it.
Only people with the link AND the code. Albums are never listed publicly or indexed by search engines. Hosts can remove any photo, video, or note.
Yes — creating an album is free, no card required, and the free tier is staying. If an album fills up, the host can buy a one-time $49 Event Pass for unlimited uploads and a 6-month gallery.
